The feral ones are in New Zealand and Australia and in some parts of Europe. They all have long claws. The wild ones are a glossy black with patches of white on there wings. They are not related to any other duck people believe that they are descended from geese. They are not good egg laying ducks. Do research before you get one. They are very quiet. The females are good mothers. Instead of quacking they hiss and wag their duck tail. They are a tropical duck that ca adapt to cold temperatures of 12c to 10 f.
